Built around a 45-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor paired with Canon's DIGIC X processor, it delivers exceptional resolution, dynamic range, and color accuracy across virtually any shooting scenario. Whether capturing fast-paced sports, intricate wildlife details, or expansive landscapes, the EOS R5 produces images with remarkable clarity and depth, making it a favorite among working photographers who need a versatile, high-performance tool they can rely on day after day. At the heart of its appeal is the camera's blazing-fast performance, including up to 20 frames per second shooting with the electronic shutter and a highly sophisticated Dual Pixel CMOS AF II system that tracks eyes, faces, and even animals with impressive precision. In-body image stabilization rated up to 8 stops allows for sharp handheld shots even in challenging low-light conditions, while the robust magnesium alloy body ensures durability in demanding environments. The bright, high-resolution electronic viewfinder and fully articulating touchscreen make composing shots from unconventional angles intuitive, and dual card slots supporting CFexpress and SD UHS-II give shooters flexible, reliable storage options for extended sessions. Video creators will find the EOS R5 equally compelling thanks to its ability to record internal 8K RAW footage along with 4K video at up to 120 frames per second, offering incredible flexibility in post-production and slow-motion work. Canon Log profiles and 10-bit 4:2:2 color sampling provide the dynamic range and grading latitude professional videographers expect, while advanced autofocus during video capture ensures subjects stay crisp and well-tracked throughout a shot. Combined with in-body stabilization and a wide array of compatible RF lenses, the EOS R5 serves as a genuine hybrid powerhouse, bridging the gap between still photography and high-end video production for creators who refuse to compromise on quality.
Customer reviews
The autofocus system is absolutely incredible, especially for wildlife photography. Eye tracking on birds in flight is something I never thought possible. Image quality is stunning even at high ISO.
Love this camera for portrait and event work. The IBIS is a game changer for handheld video. Only issue is it does overheat if you push 8K recording too long, so plan accordingly.
Switched from a DSLR system and never looked back. The EVF is gorgeous, build quality is excellent, and the dual card slots give peace of mind on paid shoots.
45MP files are a joy to edit, tons of detail and dynamic range. Battery life could be better but I just carry spares. Highly recommend for landscape and studio work.
