The SmallRig BEAMO is a compact LED light designed to bring studio-quality illumination to content creators, filmmakers, and photographers who need portable, reliable lighting without sacrificing power or control. This RGB LED panel packs a full spectrum of color temperature adjustment alongside vivid RGB color modes, giving users the flexibility to match ambient lighting conditions or create dramatic, stylized looks for video and photo projects. Its compact form factor makes it ideal for creators who travel light, whether shooting vlogs, product photography, interviews, or short films, without the bulk of traditional studio lighting setups. Built with SmallRig's signature attention to durability and practical design, the BEAMO features an intuitive control interface that allows users to adjust brightness, color temperature, and special effects directly on the unit or through companion app connectivity in certain configurations. The light supports multiple special effects modes, such as simulated lightning, police lights, or candle flicker, which are increasingly popular among video creators looking to add dynamic atmosphere to their footage without additional post-production work. Its rechargeable battery design adds another layer of convenience, letting creators shoot on location without hunting for power outlets, while still offering AC power options for extended studio sessions. Compatibility with standard photography and videography accessories is another strength of the BEAMO, as it integrates smoothly with light stands, ball heads, and diffusion accessories that are staples in the SmallRig ecosystem and broader gear market. The unit's build quality caters to creators who need a light that can withstand the rigors of frequent setup, breakdown, and transport between shooting locations. For photographers and videographers building out a mobile lighting kit, the SmallRig BEAMO offers a versatile, feature-rich solution that balances color accuracy, creative effects, and portability, making it a practical addition to any gear bag focused on professional-quality content creation.
Customer reviews
For a light this size, the output is impressive. Used it as a key light for interviews and it easily overpowered ambient window light. The Bowens mount means I could reuse my existing softboxes immediately.
Color accuracy is excellent and skin tones look natural straight out of camera. The only downside is the app occasionally drops connection when I have other devices on the same network, but manual controls work fine as backup.
I run a one-person video studio and needed something powerful but portable. The beamo checks both boxes. Fan is audible up close but not an issue with my lav mics.
Build quality feels premium and the light output is very consistent. My only wish is for tunable color temperature, since I sometimes need warmer tones without gels.
